Texans GM Gettin’ Tips From Isiah

Monday

If I were a Houston Texans fan, I would be absolutely beside myself after hearing that Charley Casserly is willing to trade the team’s number one overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft.

First of all, any grown man who still refers to himself as Charley should be working at Chuck E. Cheese’s and not in the NFL, but that’s beside the point.

I don’t care how many different areas you need to improve in, trading the top pick is inexcusable, especially this season. Maybe Casserly didn’t catch the year long suck-off-fest of Reggie Bush.

Bush is supposed to be the next Barry Sanders. He’s as can’t miss as they come and if he does miss, Charley, you’ll be forgiven. You would get the same pass that the Cleveland Cavaliers would have gotten if Lebron flopped.

It’s not like Domanick Davis isn’t a talented back, he just isn’t Reggie Bush. Why can’t the Texans opt to trade him? Furthermore, why can’t they play in the same backfield? They would be able to split carries and Bush can just as easily move to wide out on some downs and be one of the quickest receivers in the league.

Trading this pick would be just like Isiah Thomas trading his first round pick over the summer, only worse. At least in basketball there’s a chance the worst team might not get the first pick.

Do what you have to do. Spend money on an offensive life, waste every pick after the first one on an offensive line, trade other players for an offensive line; Just make sure you draft Reggie Bush.

the only can't miss thing i've ever seen in sports is a McGowan fastball...his pitches sucked so bad, the other team couldn't miss them

I agree with you, Texans need to take Bush. He's too good to pass up.
