Check It Out: We’re Talking Woodshed Beatings
Sunday
Seton Hall has come a long way. UConn showed them how far they still have to go, thumping the Pirates 99-57. At this point, the Huskies are scary good. Rudy Gay is finally living up to the hype and he is just one of four potential first round draft picks on this team. Most telling stat: UConn bench 46, Seton Hall bench 10.
Women’s hockey is in full swing at the Olympics. The United States held on, only defeating Switzerland 6-0. That’s a small margin considering Canada put 16 on the home team. The two teams meeting in the finals almost seems inevitable. If the US does manage to win gold, it will make for a great story from Warroad, the boy’s high school hockey team that beat them last month.
As Duke won on the road at Maryland, JJ Redick passed Christian Laettner for fifth on the all-time Duke scoring list. No word yet on when he will pass Laettner as the most evil Blue Devil in history.
